Hello there :) I was/am in a similar situation having been ill during my internship at the end of my degree. I think it is terrible that other nursing staff would make someone feel like this when they should understand that it is in the patients interest for anon not to come in as you would not want to give the flu to the patients. Anon you should take care of how you are doing first and not rush into going back just because you may feel you have to. I completely understand about feeling anxious as being a student nurse can be tough sometimes if staff are not approachable. Keep your head high and focus on your patients when you get back to work :) I’m sure you will be a great nurse and if the mood at work doesn’t change between now and when you qualify I’m sure there are loads of other hospitals you can work in and it would be like a fresh start for you. Just try not to stress about it and when you feel able to go back in maybe have a medical certificate from your doctor to cover you… Hope this helps you in someway.
